Cultural Night: Argentinian and Southern

I just want to say that I'm so happy that our last cultural night blog entry was authored by Pop. I take it as a sign that he really enjoyed the date. On our succeeding dates though, we were back to our lazy ways.:))

For May, we had Argentina. Food was steak by Popy and chimichurri by me. We also bought some frozen empanadas from the international supermarket though this was more of the Filipino kind rather than the Argentinian kind. Movie was Instructions Not Included which we later on realized is in Acapulco, Mexico not Argentina after making me cry my eyes out! (My fault! - Topeng)

For June, we had Southern. Food was fried chicken, corn on the cob, fried okra and biscuits from Church's Fried Chicken. The to-go meal was shared with and paid for by our visiting titas. Their review: their home state's version was tastier. Movie was Black Snake Moan. It looked familiar and I think I've already watched it before. As one of the characters was a nymphomaniac, the movie was quite "mahalay". I was actually hoping for a more classical choice of movie (e.g. Gone with the Wind) but it seems that Popy is still taking advantage of sex and violence movies while there are no kids around.
